Chester Hill garbage truck accident continues to be probed by NSW Police

A 32-year-old man has been charged after an elderly woman was hit by a garbage truck in Sydney’s south-west on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred at Chester Hill around 8.30 am.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Gurney Road and Woodlands Avenue after the accident, but the woman, who has not been identified, died at the scene.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit.
